They've done it again.

RE/MAX® has been voted the #1 Most Trusted Real Estate Agents in Canada by Canadian shoppers, according to the BrandSpark® Canadian Trust Study.*

Led by market research and consulting firm BrandSpark, the 2025 study is based on a national survey of 35,200 Canadian shoppers who gave their top-of-mind, unaided feedback on which brands they trust most and why, in the categories they have recently shopped. This included 190,000 brand evaluations across 292 categories of consumer products and services, spanning Household & Cleaning, Petcare, Home Goods, Food & Beverage, Beauty & Personal Care, Over-The-Counter Health, Baby & Kids, Automotive, Restaurants & Retail and Services.

“At a time when Canadians are more selective with their spending, trust remains an essential purchase driver,” says Adam Bellisario, Associate Vice-President of the BrandSpark Most Trusted Awards. “This exclusive club of brands has earned the highest levels of consumer trust by consistently delivering high value, quality, and reliability to consumers.”

As part of the Services category, RE/MAX was named the #1 most trusted real estate agency brand in 2025. While surely appreciated, the latest designation isn’t a surprising one: RE/MAX earned it — as they have, in fact, year-after-year as of late. This year's honour follows receiving the same title from 2021-2024, 2019 and 2017.

Samantha Villiard, Vice President, Region Development at RE/MAX Canada, has been with the brand for each of these moments of recognition during her 15-year RE/MAX tenure.

“To have earned the highest level of consumer trust again is really impressive for our agents,” says Villiard. “Our brokers are truly key partners in making one of life’s biggest emotional and financial decisions, and are notorious for being supportive teammates in that process. Receiving this recognition, yet again, is the direct reflection of that high level of professionalism and dedication of our agents. We also can’t forget all of the incredible back-end support from our brokerages, which in many ways set us apart from other real estate brands.”

Founded in 1973, the global real estate franchise network now boasts more than 145,000 sales associates, and a presence in over 110 countries and territories. It distinguishes itself through its global network, agent support, and commitment to technology and training. RE/MAX agents sell more real estate than any other Canadian brand, and it’s now one of the most recognizable real estate brands in Canada – whether clients are buying charming abodes in the Maritimes or selling sleek condos in Vancouver.

The same things that drew Villiard to RE/MAX are the ones that have kept with the company through the years, she shares.

“There are core things that keep me happy and challenged in my role,” says Villiard. “One is the strength and resilience from our franchisees – our broker/owners. They have to weather the storms in these markets and continue to provide top-quality service for their RE/MAX agents. Also, the hundreds of office staff that support brokerages and agents across the country truly are the backbone of the brokerages. Seeing the success of brokerages and agents every year – and throughout the year – and helping them with any challenges that emerge is really the reason I’ve been here for over a decade."

Villiard is particularly proud of how RE/MAX navigated the COVID-19 pandemic and its impact on the real estate industry. “That was a time where I saw this network band together, once real estate was deemed an essential business,” she explains. “It really was all sleeves rolled up, working together to navigate this new reality and government-imposed limitations. The market was going crazy, with multiple offers and deals with no conditions. Watching the network learn to go through that together was something really special. It's what I’m most proud of in my career to date.”

While the pandemic may be in the rearview, it goes without saying that times are also unpredictable today (to say the least). How does RE/MAX plan to maintain its trust with its clients in such shaky times?

“We’re going to keep doing what we’ve always done,” says Villiard. “We are going to consistently deliver high value, quality service, and reliability to our clients. Our agents and brokers have been around for many years, and have lived through unpredictable economies and markets before. This isn’t new to them. They’re here to support clients who haven't experienced a market like this before. I know they’ll work through the challenge and truly provide the foundation of trust that buyers and sellers in Canada expect and deserve.”

Naturally, providing this level of reliability – especially in such an unpredictable market – will only build on the consumer trust the brand has already proven to have established.

“New market challengers are emerging, and we see the presence of private label brands continuing to provide a challenge to brands," says Philip Scruton, BrandSpark’s Vice-President of Shopper Insights, "but consumers continue to gravitate toward established brands that communicate their strengths and deliver on their promises."
