THE INSIGHTS

Where did you grow up?

I grew up in West Vancouver in the Gleneagles area, but I frequented Whistler on weekends throughout my life.

What neighbourhood do you live in now?

I live in Whistler in the lakeside neighbourhood of Alta Vista.

What made you want to become a real estate agent?

My love for home design and the desire to help people reach their financial and home goals through real estate. I was previously working in finance and was exposed to how solid an investment real estate was from early on in my career.

What’s the biggest challenge you see facing the market today?

Media headlines… you always have to get the hard facts. Thankfully I work with rennie, who have an in-house economist to filter all the data into what's most important for my clients to help guide them in the right direction.

What’s the single best advice you have for sellers?

Price appropriately to the market! Stats don't lie.

What’s the single best advice you have for buyers?

Do your due diligence with the help of your realtor! And look at the details of a house carefully.

What’s the best thing a realtor can invest in for their brand (a bus bench ad, a solid Instagram strategy, etc.)?

This varies for everyone, but for me I mostly invest time into my clients. My main spot of marketing is my Instagram as I'm a homebody at heart!

Who do you look up to in the industry and why?

Salina Kai! An incredible rennie realtor, a great mom, a wonderful friend, and always a bearer of cookies or treats -- with a smile everywhere she goes. She's graceful and powerful, and her kindness is infectious.

Is there anything you wish people knew or understood about realtors that you think they’re constantly getting wrong?

It's a lot harder than it looks! You might be surprised to learn that the client's emotional journey keeps us up at night too. Also, not all realtors work the same.

Tell us about your favourite (or most memorable) sale.

I had a very generous client who, after their sale, donated $1M to the local women's society to purchase more housing for women and their children in times of need. This hands-down was the most influential sale because I knew it would truly make a difference to the community I live in! Feel-good sales are the ones that keep me going!

What are the three words you hope your clients use to describe you?

Trustworthy. Kind. Passionate.

What’s your favourite thing to do outside of selling houses?

Skiing in the winter with my partner Robbie and being at the lake with my friends and dog in the summer! I also love to travel, and I am a foodie when work and time allows!
