Saturday, March 8 marks International Women’s Day 2025, and although we don’t need an occasion to celebrate women in real estate and development, we’re more than happy to take it.
This year, we caught up with Valesa Faria, who leads a team of 400 as Executive Director of the City of Toronto’s new Development Review division, and Mandy Gareh, who's spent the past two decades in real estate marketing and recently launched an agency of her own.
We also took the opportunity to highlight women from all walks of real estate and development — and from all over the country — who have made major strides within their companies and industries over the past year, as well as an especially underrepresented group: female brokers in commercial real estate (and 10 in particular who are well worth keeping an eye on).
Finally, we checked in with a duo that catalyzed the first condominium in Canada designed and developed by an all-women team for an update on their project, Reina (which is days away from the finish line), and got acquainted with some of the women driving Camcos Living forward — at every level.
Although it may not always feel like it, real estate and development are industries that are filled with female talent that’s building cities, driving innovation, and trailblazing a more inclusive future for the next generations — and we love to see it. From our team at STOREYS, Happy International Women’s Day!
