Friday might be a good day to work from home.
And Sunday's looks great for putting up those outdoor Christmas decorations. Or taking in the Swedish Christmas Fair at Daniels Spectrum, the Fan Expo Holiday Market at the Metro Convention Centre or the Holiday Fair in the Square at Nathan Phillips Square.
Based on the Weather Network's forecast, Friday morning's commute around Toronto, the GTA and southern Ontario is looking, well, less than ideal.
According to forecasters, "expect major impact on commute times across the GTA, with the worst of the snow falling through those prime travel hours on Friday morning."
Overall, widespread 5-10 cm of snow is expected to fall during the prime morning commuting hours.
Weather Network meteorologist Dr. Doug Gillham says "most of this snow will fall in just a few hours between 5 and 9 a.m. and that could have a major impact on the commute as road crews may struggle to keep up amid heavy traffic and the quickly falling snow."
The good news? Sunday.
"If you still plan to put up lights for Christmas, this is your day to do so," says Gillham.
Temperatures on Sunday will rise to an expected high of 6 degrees ahead of the next incoming system which is another significant Colorado low for the start of next week. However, forecasters at The Weather Network predict it will bring mostly rain and milder temperatures to the GTA.
