THE INSIGHTS

Where did you grow up?

The coldest city on earth, Winnipeg, Manitoba. If you’ve never had your eyelashes freeze, are you even Canadian?

Where do you live now? And what neighbourhood (in Canada, or worldwide) would you love to live in (that isn’t your own)?

I live and work in downtown Toronto. If I could live anywhere else it would be Italy. Great food, beautiful views, and too many vowels. But I’d miss NHL hockey and don’t speak Italian (yet).

How did you end up becoming a real estate agent?

I was once married to a realtor and helped her behind the scenes. Eventually thought, “I can do this better.” Turns out, I was right, and now I’m happily doing what I love (and also happily divorced).

In a few sentences, describe what a typical “day in the life” looks like for you.

My days involve showings, market research, client strategy, and occasionally explaining that yes, a parking spot really can cost $70,000. It’s fast-paced, unpredictable, and more rewarding than I ever expected.

What’s the single best advice you have for sellers?

Price it right from day one. The market doesn’t care about your emotional attachment or what your cousin’s neighbour’s friend got for their place in 2019.

What’s the single best advice you have for buyers?

Get pre-approved and understand your budget before falling for a listing. You’ll save yourself time, heartbreak, and at least three unnecessary open house visits.

What made you choose to work for your current brokerage?

Century 21 has great brand recognition and strong support, but still gives me room to be authentically me which includes: real talk, humour, and a marketing strategy that’s anything but cookie-cutter.

Is there anyone you recommend people should be paying attention to right now?

Realtors combining personal connection with smart tech and marketing strategies are leading the pack. Anyone who knows how to use AI and actually return client calls are the ones to watch.

What is one professional goal you have for the next year? What’s one that you have for the next 10 years?

This year, I want to help more first-time buyers win without burning out. In 10 years? Build a boutique Toronto real estate brand and maybe own a little place in Italy (with good Wi-Fi and hockey streaming).

Tell us about your favourite (or most memorable) sale, and why it stands out to you.

Helping a nervous first-time buyer couple land their dream condo in Liberty Village against five other offers, still stands out. We celebrated with champagne and takeout pizza. A true Toronto moment.

What are the three words you hope your clients use to describe you?

Genuine. Strategic. Approachable. (Bonus word: Funny, because why not?)
