Already planning your New Year's Eve partying strategy?
Be sure to include the fact that the TTC (all night long), GO Transit and the UP Express will be free.
Starting after 7 p.m. on Dec. 31, commuters are free to board transit vehicles without tapping their PRESTO card or buying a ticket starting after 7 p.m., says Metrolinx.

Additional late-night train service will be added on the Lakeshore West, Lakeshore East, Barrie, Milton, Kitchener, and Stouffville lines.
On Dec. 24 and 31, Metrolinx will also provide early homebound service.
Here's how that works: rush hour trains will depart from Union Station earlier than usual plus some train and bus trips will be adjusted or cancelled.

Schedules on Dec. 25 and 26 for GO Transit will be different as well. The trains and buses will operate on a Sunday schedule on Christmas Day and Boxing Day will feature a Saturday schedule.
Passengers are being reminded by Metrolinx to "plan ahead for your trip home from the GO parking lot after some holiday festivities... and keep your celebrations polite and your 'spirits' bottled up, as drinking alcohol on the train or bus is not allowed."
