Richard J. Brennan
Richard J. Brennan, an award-winning journalist, has reported on politics, including Queen’s Park and Parliament Hill, for most of his 40-plus-year career. His typewriter to Twitter career has stood the test of time. Now retired, Brennan is the only journalist who has been president of both the press galleries at the Park and Ottawa. Besides working for the Toronto Star, Brennan (who is known to many by his nickname, Badger) was city editor at The Record in Waterloo Region, served for three years on the Ontario Press Council, and was a director for the Ontario Newspaper Awards. He has covered the governments of Bill Davis, David Peterson, Bob Rae, Mike Harris, Ernie Eves, Dalton McGuinty and Kathleen Wynne. He now volunteers with the Ontario Provincial Police and sits on the Ontario Auditor General's advisory council.
