It’s no surprise that the majority of Canada’s most expensive homes are located in Vancouver. In fact, out of the 10 priciest, seven are located in the West Coast city.

But what is surprising is that only one Toronto property made the list and it wasn’t even a top five contender! Instead, the property came in at No. 8 on the list of Canada’s most expensive homes in 2019, compiled by Buttonwood Property Management.

The 35,000 sq. ft. home is selling for an outstanding $39.6 million. With nine beds, 14 baths, 36 parking spaces, an indoor pool, tennis court and more, this property deserves the high price tag. Plus, it’s location couldn’t be better. The home is located in the luxurious Bridle Path neighbourhood just three minutes away from Drake’s Toronto mansion.

But despite this, the mere $39.6 million is nothing compared to Canada’s No. 1 most expensive home. Topping the list is a two-storey waterfront mansion that’s valued at a whopping $73.12 million. It belongs to Lululemon founder Chip Wilson and is located in Vancouver’s Kitsilano neighbourhood along Point Grey Rd.

The home itself is 15,694 sq. ft., but the property covers more than 30,000 sq. ft. of land. However, property size doesn’t necessarily equal greater value, as evidenced by the runner up.

Canada’s second most expensive home goes for $65.46 million, but covers significantly larger ground. Located on Vancouver’s Belmont Ave., the 28,794 sq. ft. home has 10 beds and 17 baths, and 74,000 sq. ft. of land.
