Black Friday is still a few days away, but some sales have already started.

The infamous day of shopping officially falls on Nov. 23 and is followed by Cyber Monday on Nov. 26. But some retailers keep the deals going days and sometimes weeks before and after the two days.

Black Friday was originally set up to entice consumers to spend on their day off (the day after American Thanksgiving). Decades later, Black Friday and Cyber Monday are international phenomena. According to the Retail Council of Canada, 40 per cent of Canadians plan to shop on Black Friday this year.

Black Friday still drives millions to brick and mortar stores. In Canada, 50 per cent of people planning to shop on Black Friday plan to do so in stores. But that doesn't mean Canadians don't like online shopping, 30 per cent of those surveyed by the RCC plan to shop on Cyber Monday.

Canadian Appliance Source: Get up to 75 per cent off of open box items. The CAS Black Friday event runs until Dec. 5 and covers big name brands like Whirlpool and Maytag. Plus, save as much as $1,255 on a Samsung fridge.

Canadian Tire: From kitchen tools to power tools, Canadian Tire's Black Friday deals have it all. Get a Nespresso Vertuo Coffee Machine by Breville for just $149.99  or a 24" 2-Stage Snowblower for $849.99.

Etsy: From Wednesday, Nov. 21 to Monday, Nov. 26 hundreds of items will be discounted up to 60 per cent off. And if you have the Etsy App, you can get a one-day start on the sales.

Furniture.ca: Everything from mattresses to coffee tables to chandeliers to sectionals are discounted between 30 and 55 per cent off.

Home Depot: Home Depot has not one but two Black Friday deals. The Pro sale is for those serious about home renovations. While the pre-sale covers general home items. Oh, and if you're looking to save on appliances, Home Depot is offering up to 20 per cent off on some of their big kitchen items.

Hudson's Bay: Save up to 50 per cent off on flannel bedding and small appliances. Even holiday decor has already started going on sale at The Bay.

Ikea: Ikea started their Black Friday sale on Monday, and is keeping it going all week long. Get 20 per cent off all mattresses and storage systems from Monday to Sunday but check out their special weekend sale for the real deals like the amazing FRIHETEN Corner sofa-bed for only $599.

Michael's: Looking for cheap holiday decorations? Michaels has already discounted holiday decor up to 60 per cent off. And with door crashers on the daily, you can probably decorate your whole house for a fraction of what you spent last year.

Lowe’s: Get a $25 savings card with every $100 purchase of tools during Lowe's Black Friday sale. Plus, save up to $500 on major appliances during thier pre-Black Friday sale.
