Mother’s Day can be overwhelming in a city like Toronto that has so much to offer.

Because of this, the at-home brunch has kind of become the go-to for those celebrating. Instead of having to stay in or navigate a ton of prix-fixe menus to find a spot that suits everyone, we’ve done the work for you.


We scanned a bevy of menus and event listings and have curated the perfect list of where to brunch, tea, dine and be entertained when celebrating mom. We even found a spot where you can do all the above in one go, and it offers a babysitting service to boot.

Why here: There’s no better way to spoil mom than by taking her to Patria, one of the country’s best Spanish tapas restaurantsThe special three-course, prix-fixe brunch menu features delicious options. Enjoy coca trufa with Iberico pancetta, black truffle and quail egg, patatas bravas with crispy potato, spicy tomato, fried egg and chorizo, and a to-die-for Spanish French toast. Prix-fixe $50 per person.

For Afternoon Tea

The area: Yorkville

Why here: Enjoy a curated selection of teas, and toast to mom with a glass of champagne or sparkling wine. You can also indulge in tiers of British-style scones, clotted cream, pastries and sandwiches. Plus everything is made in-house daily for Windsor Arms’ classic afternoon tea. For the month of May, guests will also be able to try the exclusive royal wedding-inspired lemon elderflower cake. This, of course, in honour of Prince Harry and Ms. Meghan Markle. It will run you $65 per person.

For Dinner

The area: Fashion District

Why here: Sneak mom away, down an alley to Peru (Well, sort of!). Mira is ICONINK’s newest restaurant tucked between King and Wellington Street West with an intimate lantern lit entrance, featuring the bold and adventurous flavours of Peruvian cuisine. With a menu by award-winning executive chef Stuart Cameron, mom’s palate will be overwhelmed by the ceviches, piscos, hot plates and expansive dessert menu.

Be Entertained (While eating, at that!)

The place:Ricarda’s

The area: Entertainment District

Why here: Ricarda’s all-you-can-eat Mother’s Day Jazz Brunch is changing the brunch game with a wide variety of freshly-prepared seafood, and live omelette, pancake and carving stations. Make this Mother’s Day truly memorable with live jazz music and a fully-supervised children’s playground, if you just need a breather. 

For Sports Fans
